Vocal Health First Aid

Leandros has achieved the Vocal Health First Aid qualification with the distinguished organisation Vocal Health Education.

What is a Vocal Health First Aider? Vocal Health Education explains:

The Vocal Health First Aider will have:

• A basic understanding of vocal health and the factors that can affect vocal wellbeing
• Practical skills to spot the signs of a range of vocal dysfunction and imbalance
• Knowledge to help someone towards recovery by
a) Guiding them in self-management, or
b) Passing them on to further support, whether that is specialist vocal rehabilitation coaching or clinical treatment
• An understanding of how to prevent vocal health issues from occurring in the workplace

Leandros says ‘I have always been interested in vocal anatomy and function as well as the personal and psychological aspects of being a voice user. In the last couple of years in particular, I’ve devoted time and energy to studying and feeding my enthusiasm for these subjects. Add to this my love of working with people and helping them problem solve and this qualification was a no-brainer! I hope to continue on this study pathway.

I have already been able to apply my new-found knowledge and techniques to my singing and teaching, and I’m excited now to be able to add Vocal Health First Aid to my work portfolio.’

Vocal Health Assessment enquiries and bookings with Leandros can be made via the contact page on this website.

Leandros is based in inner London, close to the Underground, overground trains and a number of bus routes and is often available at short notice and out of hours.

Leandros is delighted to be performing the baritone solos in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (Choral Symphony) with Bangor University Symphony Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Joe Cooper. This concert, marking the 140th anniversary of the university is Leandros’ first professional engagement since his recent recovery from acute illness (please see his new blog for more). ‘Ode to Joy’ feels very appropriate in the circumstances.
